Tracks Up The Tree
July 21st, 2005
Have you heard the Tracks Up The Tree podcast? No??? Ooooooh. You really need to. It’s our favorite music podcast here at the temple. Any time a new episode shows up on iTunes, me and a few of the monks will grab a couple 12 packs, head to the courtyard and spend the next hour or so laughing ourselves silly.
Even though Funtime Ben (the show’s host), Josiah (frequent co-host), and Funtime Dianne (Ben’s squeeze and occasional co-host) are all incredibly funny, it’s not just the humor that keeps us coming back for more. The show’s are also usually really interesting, and I don’t think I’ve listened to an episode where I didn’t hear a great new band. In fact, “Tracks” is the first place I ever heard The Dears.
Anyway, it seems that as popular as the show is, and with it’s genuine pedigree (The first podcast from New York), Apple has snubbed them for some unkonwn reason. If you go to the iTunes Podcast directory, you won’t find them, and no one can really figure out why. This is genuinely good stuff.
So Ben has put out the call for his listeners to go and vote for the show at the PodCast Awards, and I’m echoing it here. Ben says, “since iTunes didn’t list us on their directory, we could really use the spotlight,” and not only do I agree, but I think they deserve it, too.
So go over there, give the show a listen and then go vote!
