Some Great Links For You

Not a whole lot to do today, so I’ve been doing some surfing, and I’ve found some cool stuff you all might like.
First up is The Hype Machine. Hype Machine pulls the latest MP3s from several blogs (iPod Nirvana may soon be one) around the internet.
While visiting there, I noticed that it’s actually a sub-domain of non-standard.net, so, of course, I visited that site, where I found these amazing photos of Godspeed You Black Emperor by Anders Samnoy. Someday my photos will look like that…
That made me realize that I had never been to GYBE’s web site. So I did a google search and found their official site hosted at Brainwashed. It’s a really outstanding and very pretty site, but unfortunately, the only free MP3s they have are clip-samples. This seems to be the case with all of the bands hosted at Brainwashed, but… they have a podcast available that kind of compiles some of the content from Brainwashed Radio. It’s supposed to be weekly (don’t know if it actually is yet, though). I downloaded the latest episode, and it pretty much kicks ass if you’re into artsy-but-not-overly-pretentious-but-sometimes-maybe-a-bit-but-that-may-be-just-kidding type stuff. There’s actually some very funny parts on it, but also some very good quality parts too (like a performance by Diamanda Galas). Seriously worth a look… the whole site is, really, so go there.
