Music News: The Dandy Warhols: Odditorium or Warlords of Mars
September 13th, 2005
The Dandy Warhols’ “Odditorium or Warlords of Mars” has been a highly anticipated album. So anticipated, in fact, that an advance copy of it was leaked to the internet months ago, and spread like wildfire on MP3 blogs, file-sharing networks, and bittorrent sites.
Regardless of your opinion on the legalities and moralities of this, the sad truth is that this kind of thing will eventually lead to bands and labels just not releasing advance copies. Of course, much can be said about how this could easily be avoided by said bands and labels pre-releasing individual MP3s to the public at large rather than so called “industry insiders.”
But I digress. I’m not here for a ride on any high horse, right now. I’m here to let you know that today is the official release of “Odditorium,” and it is now available for download at the iTunes Music Store.
You can also get the CD at your local record store, or by ordering it from Amazon for 29% off.
For anyone who downloaded the leaked version, this means you can go to Amazon now and download the album cover. :/
There’s nothing really new at the site except an announcement in the news section, but if you’ve never been, you may want to pay the Dandys a visit at their website
