This will probably only be of interest to a few of you, but it’s just too cool not to pass along.Potion Factory, the creators of Podcast Maker (a tool which I’m going to have to try out), have a great article up on how to password protect your podcast. It involves using .htaccess, works with iTunes, and can have multiple users with multiple passwords. Now why would you want to lock people out of your podcast? Really, there could be a lot of reasons. Maybe you want to make a podcast that only your closest friends would hear, or perhaps you could charge people for an account to subscribe to your podcast (don’t worry the iPN Podcast will always be free). This isn’t for the n00b, though. You can really screw things up using shell commands and .htaccess. Be careful, and read the other article they link to at JavaScriptKit.

The site description for Brokenpod.com pretty much says it all:
Brokenpod.com wants to buy your broken iPods today! We don’t care if the screens are cracked, hard drive is dead, battery has died–we still want to give you cash for your broken iPods. We will evaluate your broken iPod and offer you our best price on the device. Why deal with the hassles of eBay? Cut out the work and let Brokenpod.com take that broken iPod for you!
Looks like you can sell your iPod there even if it it’s in perfect condition as well… but why would you want to do that?

My apologies to anyone who got one of those MP3s as an enclosure. I recently upgraded to WP 2.0 and forgot to break it so that it doesn’t automatically make mp3 links into podcasts.

[edit]I didn’t notice at first that this goes all the way back to October of last year. It’s still a great list, though, and well worth checking out.[/edit]
Neil Lee at BeatnikPad Journal has a great list of “cool musicians who blog” going.
This will surely doom my NetNewsWire which already takes, like, a million years to load.
